Being an undoubted leader in search technologies, Google offers its own PPC ad program. Google features a growing distribution network not only from their own Google sites but also through partners. Google's current audience reach in USA is estimated at 39%, while a combined reach of Google and its partners is much greater.

Yahoo! is the the oldest and most important directory that recently became one of the two greatest search engines and pay-per-click services. In January 2004, Yahoo!'s properties' combined audience reach was estimated 30,4% in the USA. The commercial search provider Overture Services powers Yahoo! Pay-for-Performance program. Yahoo provides geographic search targeting.

Cost: Two sign-up plan are offered: Fast Track and Self Serve. If you choose Fast Serve, you'd pay $199 one-time service fee. Overture
Overture Service, Inc., now a subsidiary of Yahoo! Inc., is a global leader in commercial search services on the Internet. Overture pioneered commercial search. It has more than 100,000 active, paying advertisers and it has worldwide distribution partners, including major Web portals. Overture/Yahoo! search boxes are integrated on sites of a number of top ISPs (Juno and Netzero).

FindWhat.com
A growing PPC search engine with generally lower bids than on Overture.com. In February 2004, Findwhat.com signed a merger agreement with Espotting Media Inc., a leading European PPC service.

Once a powerful directory, Looksmart does no longer maintain its directory. It is a PPC search engine. Backup results are powered by Wisenut.com. Directory results are provided by Zeal.

Cost: The monthly minimum budget is $15 per account. You should set a maximum CPC for each of your keywords. Kanoodle
Your Kanoodle.com account allows your listings to be seen on search engines and search enabled sites. You can also use your Kanoodle.com account to advertise in Europe with eSpotting.com.
